HIBERNATION IS OVER

Good afternoon everybody, it's been a while, apologies for my absence, I've been rather busy in The Sett over the past few months.

Well, a lot has happened since we last spoke, I have a new addition to my Brompton Family, please welcome "Tommy" to the fold.

Tommy is an H6LX in Raw Lacquer, with a few mods, namely a Brooks Flyer Special saddle, which was soooo comfortable to sit on right from the start.
Tommy also has a set of Brooks leather hand grips fitted, a pair of Eazy Wheels, and a set of Marathon tyres.

A lot of folk ask me if there is a real weight difference with the Ti Brompton frame in comparison to a steel framed one my answer is a resounding NO, I have found no noticeable difference, mind you, I do load my B for a weeks holidays whenever I go out, Lol.

The real difference that I must say is wonderful, is that IMHO, the whole ride is so much smoother.
I say this, as I have found that with the Ti front forks, and Ti rear triangle, the road vibration through the tyres is almost non existent, the whole ride on Tommy reminds me of a tin of tomato soup with creme fresh, VERY smooth and soft, a total delight.

Tommy is a delight to ride, fortunately, I managed to purchase Tommy before Brompton ceased the manufacture of Tiyanium bikes due to the scarcity of this metal.

Just one last important plea from both myself and the Badger Family, please, please, please, if you do go out on your bicycle during these darker days, please use your lights, day or night.

Be safe, ride well, and may the wind be always at your back.

The Brompton Badger.

My Brompton and Coffee

The two things that, if I dare confess I am a bit of a  "Raincoat" with, are my Brompton bikes, which are as follows:

MY BROMPTON BIKES
  1. BLUEY -My 1999 Cobalt Blue M6R.
  2. POPPY - My 2009 Matt Black M3R with 12% reduced gearing for the hills, (I loathe and detest hills, more about that on another post).
  3. BRADLEY - My 2012  Raw Lacquer H6R, (My favourite bike).
  4.  "H" - My 2012 Racing Green/Sage Green H6R. (This is actually Mrs Badgers bike , but I do all the maintenance/cleaning on a very regular basis).
COFFEE

I ADORE COFFEE - FACT

Be it Black, white, Capacino, Americano, hot or cold, I just love the stuff.

I am, if I'm honest with myself, a bit of an addict where Coffee is concerned, and cannot go past a Coffee Shop without the need to stop, in order to see if they have a blend that I haven't seen before.      I just can't help it.

Please do me a favour Folks, if you have a favourite Coffee Shop, please let me know where it is, provide a link if possible, and I'll try to get out to visit the place to try out your recommendation for myself.

Ok, I need to go as I have a fresh Coffee to prepare and some work to do on "H" before MrsB. and I go out for an afternoon adventure on our BROMPTON'S.

Many thanks for visiting my Sett, have a great day, whatever your doing.

Be safe.

THE BROMPTON BADGER - INTRO:

Hello Everyone.

My name is The Brompton Badger, I am a total Brompton bicycle fanatic, I own 4 Brompton bikes, (At the moment), I really can't explain my fascination for this multi modal "MOBILITY AID", other than to say that it's totally BRITISH made, is beautiful in design, and has been responsible for my meeting so many new friends that I've met through the LONDON BROMPTON CLUB, a Facebook generated club that was created by myself and iCrazyBee who owns his beloved Brompton bike called Bumble Bee, back in 2011.

I'd like this Blog to be an account of my many adventures on my BROMPTON'S, who go by the names of Bradley, Poppy, Bluey and "H".

First of all I need to get the layout of this page sorted out and I will then be divulging full details of my many adventures, together with lots of photos of my comings and goings throughout the year.

I really do hope that you all enjoy reading about my adventures and come back whenever you can to see what I've been up to.

Be safe, and I will speak to you all again soon.
